Plucking eyebrows
Beautiful, well-groomed eyebrows perfectly frame your eyes while bringing out the expression in your face. It's important to pluck your brows regularly to ensure they retain their natural shape and look more defined.
In our step-by-step guide, we'll show you how to prepare, measure, contour, and pluck your eyebrows for a salon-worthy result at home.
GUIDE TO PLUCKING EYEBROWS
Comb your eyebrows
Before plucking, use an eyebrow brush to comb your eyebrows from bottom to top, in the direction they are growing. This will make it easier to spot protruding hairs and determine the natural shape of your brows.
Tip: Many of our eyebrow products come with a built-in brush. Once they are brushed, your brows will be ready for plucking.
Pluck the area between your eyebrows
To create a harmonious look, you must ensure the distance between your left and right eyebrows (your glabella) is just right.
This distance should be approximately the width of one eye to provide for an open and balanced expression.
Go ahead and pluck the hairs in this area. Be careful not to over-pluck – the area should look clean but not too open.
Contour your eyebrows
Before reaching for your tweezers, you'll want to visualize the desired shape.
Using a white Kajal liner or a concealer, you can precisely outline your eyebrows and determine which hairs can stay and which ones should go.
Pluck your eyebrows
It's time for the actual plucking! Be sure to always tweeze your eyebrow hairs in the direction they are growing. This will ensure the hair is pulled from its roots and protect your skin against irritation. Start with the fine hairs outside the contour (Step 3), and slowly work your way forward.
You can also use an eyebrow razor to groom larger areas more quickly. Our Sculpting Brow Styler comes with a thin razor blade for removing small hairs both quickly and safely.
