ince its founding, ARTDECO has not tested any cosmetic products on animals and does not commission animal testing. Animal testing has been banned for decorative cosmetic products under German animal protection law since 1986. Since 1998, this has applied to all finished cosmetic products. A corresponding ban has also been in place for cosmetic raw materials since March 2009, which ARTDECO explicitly welcomes! After that, raw materials developed for use in cosmetics may no longer be tested for compatibility using animal testing. ARTDECO also receives confirmation from its suppliers that they do not conduct animal testing.
The skin compatibility of ARTDECO products is tested by renowned testing institutes with voluntary test persons, so that ARTDECO products can be labeled with "dermatologically confirmed skin compatibility". These application tests (also called patch tests or epicutaneous tests) are used to determine the local compatibility of a product.
